(Dis)connectivity of the parameter region of multistationarity in reaction networks

Despite recent developments, describing the set of parameters that enable multistationarity in a chemical reaction network is a challenging problem. Under certain assumptions on the network, one can associate a critical function to the network that gives information about multistationarity. Especially, one can use the critical function to study the shape of the parameter region of multistationarity, in particular, its connectivity. In the first part of the talk, I will present a new algorithm that checks a sufficient condition for connectivity of the parameter region of multistationarity and give several examples of reaction networks where our algorithm can be applied. In the second part, I will discuss a reaction network whose parameter region of multistationarity is not connected.
